Obviously, events and gatherings differ due to external factors, but Ono Island tries to hold community events every year. They host several POA-sponsored steak nights throughout the year, they have an Independence Day Parade and the two social clubs do a lot of community work both on the island and throughout the city (picking up trash, holding fundraisers). Ono Island is a great private community that’s very active in the local community. Condos or Homes?
While Ono Island has some of the more diverse amenities as far as homes go, there’s just many amenities that only come with condominiums. A good example of this would be things like hot tubs, saunas, high views of the Gulf of Mexico and other similar amenities. Another big difference between owning a condo and a home, is the maintenance. Pretty much all condos will have all maintenance as part of the HOA and homes require the owners to either handle the maintenance or pay someone to take are of things. Boat slips are not standard with all Ono Island homes for sale. With Orange Beach condos featuring boat slips on Old River and Cotton Bayou (the waterway that runs parallel to Ono Island on its South-side), boat slips will either be first come, first serve, deeded with ownership or some of the condos will have private slips.
